I’m SO GLAD you’re here!

Honest Joyful Soulful Bold Empathetic

I want to share with you!

I am a singer/actor from Bassett, VA! I grew up in a musical family where everyone either sang, played an instrument, or did both. Growing up in the church, gospel music is what we primarily consumed. However, my mother taught my siblings and I how important it was to listen to, learn from, and appreciate every style of music. She showed us the film versions of The Sound of Music, My Fair Lady, and the 1997 remake of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella. Some of my fondest memories from my childhood are of my family and I sitting in our living room singing “Do-Re-Mi” and Whitney Houston and Brandy’s version of “Impossible/It’s Possible”.

When I was five years old, my mom took me to audition for the Missoula Children’s Theater’s touring company production of The Little Mermaid, not knowing that I would develop a passion for acting as well. She said I had a big personality as a child and she thought it would be a fun way for me to express myself. I “lived my best life” as a seahorse, and loved that experience so much that I decided to continue to perform, study musical theatre in college, and pursue a career as an actor.

The theater is a paramount part of my being. Knowing that the stories we tell have the potential to teach, uplift, and encourage people is what endears me to this beautiful artform. My ultimate goal as an artist is to create truthful and meaningful work that touches others.

Characters that are confident, full of drive, full of heart and fight for their dreams fit my POV as an actor. I am attracted to characters that love life and others. I relate to characters who stand up for what they believe in and go after what they want.

In my freetime I like to cook, go shopping, hang out with my friends and family, and watch reality tv! I am a Sagittarius and my favorite season is winter!

The Family Five

Besides performing I have a passion for ministry through gospel music. When they were children, my maternal grandfather and his siblings formed a gospel quartet group with their father called The Family Five. Since the passing of my Papa and most of the other original members, the group’s legacy has been continued by their children and grandchildren. The Family Five Gospel Singers have been active for over 75 years. Since joining the group at the age of 13, we have released two albums and have been nominated for and won a number of awards for independent gospel music acts.

Though there are now more than 5 members, we still honor the original name of the group. To quote our theme song '“We’ve always been the Family Five, and the Family Five will always be!”.
